Jeremy & Catherine's Wedding

In the winter of 2010, my friend Jeremy asked me if I would consider officiating the ceremony for he and his fiancé. I was flattered that they thought of me, but wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Immediately, I thought of “Friends” and Joey getting ordained via the Internet. A couple months after I was asked, I got reacquainted with an old friend from high school, and he told me how he had done that very same thing so he could officiate his brother’s wedding. So I asked him the steps he went through, and after paying a couple small fees to the church who issued my certificate and the State… I’m now authorized to solemnize marriages in the state of Ohio. Jeremy and Catherine tied the knot at the Cincinnati Club, and it was a beautiful ceremony.

Mike & Christina's Wedding

A few months later, a woman that I know through our company working on her company’s website contacted me after seeing something on my Facebook wall. See… sometimes being open and sharing so much pays off! They needed someone in a pinch, I was available, and they had a beautiful outdoor wedding that summer on a golf course in the area. Mike and Christina have a beautiful family, and they had a host of those folks and friends come out for their special day. So that’s how I came to officiate my second ceremony.

David & Amy's Wedding

Then, this past summer I had the privilege of officiating a wedding for an old friend from church. I used to serve with the kids in our church alongside Amy, and was close to her kids as they grew up there. Their wedding was at a beautiful park in the area with a waterfall in the background, and each of their families in attendance. It was a wonderful day, and a great time catching up with the kids and Amy. A couple small things didn’t quite go as planned, but everyone was flexible and it was a very special day.

I’m hoping that I will one day have the honor of marrying my brother-in-laws, and now our beautiful angel Ellie one day (… if I could actually give her away to some guy). I am NOT a counselor either, but I like to know the people I’m about to marry, get an idea of their commitment to one another, and so far all three of the marriages I’ve officiated are still together!

So if you have everything else lined up for your big day except for the officiant, I may be able to help. Just contact me to set up a meeting.
