You've probably heard it said many times, as I have - character counts. Many times, it's what's most remembered of us. Down the road, people won't remember ever decision you made, or every action you did or didn't take. But what they will remember is your character and they way you treated them. We should focus on those positive attributes and Tony offers some great guidance in his book about the marks of a Mentor Leader.
A New (and Better) Way to Do Meetings

This is a GREAT book.. and it was FREE (for me, at that time)! I’ve long been a proponent of the “movement” to end unnecessary meetings. I really dislike purely informational meetings – I can read. If you’ve asked me (or anyone else) to attend a meeting, an agenda should be provided in advance, and [...]
The No Complaining Rule: Positive Ways to Deal with Negativity at Work
02 years ago
In this story, Hope is the VP of Human Resources for EZ Tech, where some of their batteries have recently exploded and caused a public relations nightmare. Some of the bad press is even being supplied by a couple of bloggers, in-house. Hope's job is to do damage control, and minimize the harmful effects. While that is happening at work, she is recently divorced and dealing with two strong-willed, negative kids at home, and suspects that she may have cancer. While awaiting her test results from the hospital, she meets a woman named Joyce (who just happens to be the sister of Joy, the bus driver from Jon's The Energy Bus book) who tells her about the No Complaining Rule. Hope tries it at home, in her own life, and the proposes a plan at work. I won't spoil the ending for you, but it is a motivational book - I'll leave it at that.

The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy

I read this book a little while ago by Jon Gordon, and there are some very good principles within this story. I personally found the story a little cheesy and a little far-fetched, but it was the author’s vehicle to share some very helpful principles. In this story, George is failing at work and at [...]
