I wish I could say that I've never said anything racist. I wish I could say that I never uttered a racial slur, or viewed someone differently because of the color of his/her skin. Unfortunately, racism is in my family tree and I can't say that I always knew how wrong it was. I can't recall an instance of racism in my heart since I was a teenager, and my hope and prayer is that we COMPLETELY erase that in our limb of the family tree in the generations ahead.

This past weekend at church, I heard a very familiar story in a new light. Those of us that grew up in the church have heard the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 with just five loaves of bread and two fish. In this miracle reported in the Bible, Jesus blessed the food, the Disciples began passing the food around, and the baskets never emptied. In fact, they collected more leftovers at the end than what they started with.
