I wish I could say that I've never said anything racist. I wish I could say that I never uttered a racial slur, or viewed someone differently because of the color of his/her skin. Unfortunately, racism is in my family tree and I can't say that I always knew how wrong it was. I can't recall an instance of racism in my heart since I was a teenager, and my hope and prayer is that we COMPLETELY erase that in our limb of the family tree in the generations ahead.
The No Complaining Rule: Positive Ways to Deal with Negativity at Work
02 years ago
In this story, Hope is the VP of Human Resources for EZ Tech, where some of their batteries have recently exploded and caused a public relations nightmare. Some of the bad press is even being supplied by a couple of bloggers, in-house. Hope's job is to do damage control, and minimize the harmful effects. While that is happening at work, she is recently divorced and dealing with two strong-willed, negative kids at home, and suspects that she may have cancer. While awaiting her test results from the hospital, she meets a woman named Joyce (who just happens to be the sister of Joy, the bus driver from Jon's The Energy Bus book) who tells her about the No Complaining Rule. Hope tries it at home, in her own life, and the proposes a plan at work. I won't spoil the ending for you, but it is a motivational book - I'll leave it at that.
